Twitch Breaks Records During the Pandemic Process

Twitch has had a very important place in the live streaming market for years, attracting popular streamers and millions of viewers to its platform. After stay-at-home bans, users who didn’t want to miss out on outdoor activities often turned to games and other digital activities.

The live streaming report, which covers data from Q2 2020, shows a 56% increase in Twitch viewership from Q1. Views peaked in April, with 1.8 billion hours watched on the streaming platform, but that number has dropped slightly since then.

June 2020 Twitch viewership is 60% higher than June 2019, with 1.5 billion hours watched versus 939 million hours watched this year.

While Twitch continues to be the leader in this area, Facebook Gaming also experienced a very rapid increase in users. Growing 75% from the first quarter compared to the second quarter, Facebook Gaming reached the peak with 342 million hours in May. Compared to June of last year, there was an increase of approximately 200%.


The report also revealed the most games in June 2020 compared to statistics from January 2020. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare viewers reached 76 million. This figure was 7 million hours in January. The most watched category was “Just Chatting”, reaching a total of 167 million hours watched in June.
