Rocksteady Studios has announced plans to develop a new video game for the Suicide Squad series.
Rocksteady will share details about the new Suicide Squad game at the DC Fandome event, which will take place on August 22, 2020. Rocksteady announced the new game on Friday, August 7th in a cryptic tweet with the headline “target locked”.
Rumors of a new Suicide Squad name first surfaced when WB Games Montreal released Batman: Arkham Origins in 2013. Players who completed the game and reviewed the credits commented on some details for a new Suicide Squad game, but the 2015 Batman: Arkham Knight game did not include any Suicide Squad details.
There hasn’t been much discussion about a new Suicide Squad game since those developments. However, in June, Eurogamer announced that Rocksteady’s SuicideSquadGame. com and GothamKnightsGame. He announced that he had registered two different domains called com. SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague. The username com may have revealed some clues about what the new game has to offer. Eurogamer also stated that Rocksteady is seriously considering renaming it Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.
The new Suicide Squad may not be the only game in the DC Comics universe to be introduced on DC Fandome. In the last few weeks, reports have indicated that there may also be a Batman game that will appear in WB Games Montreal’s Arkham universe. WB Games Montreal bolstered the claims by tweeting and posting partial images of the Gotham City Police Department crest on Instagram.
It is not yet known when these DC games will be released. However, it’s likely to be released for next-gen gaming consoles, with the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X coming out this holiday season. However, it is not known whether the games will be developed for current generation consoles.
