Rockstar Games plans to release an open world AAA game that can use VR glasses. The game is being developed by Video Games Deluxe, a studio founded by Brendan McNamara and former Team Bondi employees (the creators of L. A. Noire and who also worked on L. A. Noire: The VR Case Files). The information is in a note posted on LinkedIn.
Critically well received LA. We are preparing for a new project after Noire: The V. R. Case Files. We’re starting work on a AAA open world game in VR for Rockstar. Celebrating 7 years of working with Rockstar in Sydney in 2020, we are excited to take on this groundbreaking project. We have several vacancies in our Sydney studio including Senior Programmers, Engine Programmer, Designer and Animator. If you are interested in one of these locations or would like to talk to two people who work there about Video game design, please contact us.
Unfortunately, no additional information was given about this project, but even the idea of a VR sandbox AAA game sounds interesting. VR glasses users cannot easily access many such games, especially those created by well-known developers. Are we waiting for a quality production to be released after Half-Life: Alyx? The only thing left to do for now is to wait for more information.
