Rocket League will receive an important update in the coming periods. The game will also feature cross-platform progression with this update; For example, it means that parts or cars you collect on PlayStation 4 can also be played on Nintendo Switch without losing them. Developer Psyonix has revealed details on how this entire system will work.
Your competitive ranking, Rocket Pass progression and inventory will continue, but you will need to have an Epic Games Account. After the update, you will be asked to log into your Epic account and then set a Primary Platform to determine which version of the game you will continue to progress from. For example, if you’re playing the game on both PC and PS4, you’ll want to choose the version where you earn more items.
Doing so will instantly earn you Chopper EG Wheels for your cars. Alternatively, you can keep progress separate by not logging into Epic.
The items in the list below are the details that will be transferred during these cross-platform migrations.
- Season Awards and Titles
- Rocket Pass Items
- Item Store Purchases
- Plans and items created from plans
- All Rocket League branded DLCs included in the Legacy Pack
Despite all this, it is included in the unlisted items. For example, Credit and Esports Token balances will remain tied to each platform as they cannot be transferred to a new platform.
Rocket League has been played by nearly 75 million players since its launch in 2015, and that number will be much higher when it’s free.
