Game presentations continue to be very successful and players will learn new details at many events including Gamescom2020.
What is Gamescom?
Originally held in 2009, Gamescom is an annual gaming conference traditionally held in Germany, where multiple publishers and developers come together to present their upcoming products. The event, which has a similar number of participants with the Expo, was attended by 373,000 people in 2019.
In March of this year, Gamescom organizers announced that they will be holding an all-digital event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused similar events and productions to come online. The multi-day event will kick off on August 27 and Geoff Keighley will host the opening night and end on August 30.

Which companies did their own events?
Gamescom 2020 is part of the wider Summer Game Festival 2020, which includes gaming conferences hosted by many companies, including some publishers who will be presenting at Gamescom 2020.
Electronic Arts held its EA Play Live 2020 event in early June. The event included details about the productions the company was working on. The presentation was highlighted by Star Wars: Squadron, but EA also showed off its evolving sports game engine and announced the development of Skate 4.
Ubisoft recently held the Ubisoft Forward event focused on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion, but Ubisoft also announced Far Cry 6 during the presentation. Perhaps Ubisoft will use Gamescom 2020 to offer more.
