Dreams, the game and art creation tool exclusive to PlayStation 4 developed by Media Molecule, will soon receive an important and major update that will make the developed games compatible with VR. The update, which will be released for free on July 22, 2020, will add new tools that allow users to create VR experiences.
As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the update will include new tools and kits for VR creation. There will also be details to help you familiarize yourself with the controls for creating VR compatible content.
The trailer below shows off some of the types of experiences you can play with.
If you are using PlayStation Move controllers, sculpting in VR will give you a very realistic experience. You’ll also be able to create games that can be played in VR even if you don’t have a headset, as new tools will be added to Render Mode. Creators will be able to control whether their games are playable in VR.
Media Molecule is also adding a number of new accessibility features to help with its ability to provide a “comfort rate” as well as games that offer fun experiences to show if content actually works well in VR.
The update, which will be released on July 22, will be the most significant change since its launch.
