The publisher has announced that Square Enix’s critically acclaimed Dragon Quest XI, which was announced ahead of today’s Xbox Showcase event, is coming to Xbox. The game will be released on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass on December 4 and will be playable on Xbox Series X.
Dragon Ques XI, the latest installment in the hit JRPG series, casts players as Luminary, the reincarnation of a legendary hero tasked with saving the kingdom of Erdrea from its dark forces. The Xbox version is based on Switch’s Dragon Quess XI S: Definitive Edition, which includes re-recorded music, the option to play the adventure in 2D, and other enhancements.
The Dragon Quest series will be released for the Xbox for the first time.
In addition to Xbox, Square Enix has confirmed that Dragon Quest XI S will also be coming to PS4 and Steam. The original version of the game was previously released for both platforms, but this includes details that the Definitive Edition will be available for the first time.
Dragon Quest XI was first released for PS4 in 2017, and the aforementioned Switch version was released in 2019.
