343 Industries, the developer of Halo, one of the popular games of the gaming world, takes an important stance against racism. Finally, the company managed to raise a large amount of money to support a civil rights organization. The studio announced a donation of approximately $600,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, a legal group that fights racism.
The amount donated to the Education fund came from the sale of Halo 5: Guardian’s microtransactions between June 19 and July 19. Many users in the game gave a great support to support the campaign.
“Heroes are fighting for what’s right,” he said on Halo’s official Twitter account. “Thank you Spartans for making the world a better place.”
In addition to this donation, 343 made a statement supporting Black Lives Matter, and the company announced that it is stepping up its efforts to prevent players from engaging in racist and hateful behavior.
We hope all companies will put more effort into this issue and it will all be over as soon as possible.
